The full concept: Key terms: units, NAV, AUM

Worked example: A scheme has 5 crore units and its NAV is ₹24. Its AUM is 5 crore × ₹24 = ₹120 crore. Its unit capital is 5 crore × ₹10 = ₹50 crore.

Exam trap: NAV is not the face value or the launch price. And recurring expenses are deducted from the scheme, so they reduce NAV.
